A home closing comes with enough pressure without an unfinished air conditioning job. Our recent AC condenser reinstallation in Des Plaines, IL 60018 helped a real estate agent resolve an urgent issue before a scheduled 1:00 p.m. closing.
At 10:00 a.m., Any Season Heating & Cooling Inc. received a call about a home on Van Buren Avenue. The outdoor condenser needed to be returned to its intended position, reconnected, and operating before closing. Other companies had offered appointments for later that day or the following day.
On Site Within 15 Minutes
We arrived at 10:15 a.m. to inspect the situation and confirm the work with the customer. The condenser had been moved aside so another contractor could complete excavation and construction work beside the house. That contractor had been unable to return the unit to its intended location and reconnect it.
After reviewing the installation requirements and gathering the necessary materials, we returned at 10:45 a.m. and began the reinstallation.

Repositioning and Reconnecting the Existing AC Condenser
We moved the existing condenser into the position agreed upon with the customer and rerouted the refrigerant line set for reconnection. This was a reinstallation of the existing equipment, rather than a new air conditioner installation.
The copper connections were prepared for brazing, and heat protection gel was applied to help protect the service valves. During brazing, we flowed nitrogen through the refrigerant piping to help prevent internal oxidation and scale.
Once the connections were complete, we pressurized the connected piping with nitrogen. We checked the brazed joints with a bubble leak detection solution and monitored the pressure for signs of leakage. No leaks were detected during these checks.
Evacuation, Electrical Connections, and Startup
After the pressure test, we evacuated the connected refrigerant piping to 300 microns before opening the service valves to release the refrigerant held in the condenser.
During evacuation, we completed the low-voltage control wiring and high-voltage power connections. With the outdoor power disconnect left out, we also verified that the contactor responded to a call for cooling.
Once evacuation was complete and the service valves were open, we restored outdoor power and started the system. We operated the air conditioner for approximately 20 minutes, monitoring refrigerant pressures and checking system operation. The R-410A system was cooling and operating normally at the completion of our checks.
Completed at 11:59 a.m., Before the Home Closing
The job was completed at 11:59 a.m., leaving just over an hour before the scheduled closing. The customer was pleased with the quick response and completed work and recommended Any Season Heating & Cooling to the new homeowner.
A tight deadline made careful coordination especially important. Our team completed the reconnection, leak testing, evacuation, and startup checks while keeping the customer informed.
