In late September 2026, Any Season Heating & Cooling Inc. completed a full HVAC system replacement at a home on Bedford Lane in Des Plaines, IL 60016.
The existing air conditioner was no longer cooling, and the gas furnace was also broken. The outdoor condenser had served the property for more than 50 years. We replaced the old heating and cooling equipment, installed a new refrigerant line set, and added humidity control, media filtration, air purification, and a smart thermostat.

With both the furnace and air conditioner out of service, this project addressed the home’s heating and cooling needs together. Our work included removing the existing equipment and replacing the old refrigerant lines connecting the outdoor condenser to the indoor evaporator coil.
After: A New Trane Heating and Cooling System
Two-Stage Trane Gas Furnace
We installed a Trane S8V2B080M4PCB gas furnace with:
- 80% AFUE efficiency.
- Two-stage heating, with approximately 52,000 BTU input on low stage and 80,000 BTU input on high stage.
- A variable-speed ECM blower motor.
- A nominal 4-ton blower drive, configured for the installed system’s airflow requirements.
Two-stage heating allows the furnace to operate at a lower heating level when demand is lighter and use its higher stage when more heat is needed. Learn about our heating services in Des Plaines.
Three-Ton Trane Air Conditioner
The new Trane 5TTR4036A1000 condenser provides 3 tons of nominal cooling capacity and uses R-454B refrigerant with single-stage operation.
The installation also included a Trane 5PXCB006AS3HA cased evaporator coil, equipped with an A2L refrigerant detection sensor, and a new refrigerant line set. Explore our AC installation and replacement services or view the Trane 14 Single-Stage Air Conditioner product information.
Humidity Control, Filtration, and Smart Controls
Alongside the furnace and AC replacement, we installed:
- AprilAire 700 fan-powered humidifier with automatic digital control.
- Ecobee Premium smart thermostat, model EB-STATE6P-01.
- Honeywell F100F2025/U media air cleaner, using a 20 × 25-inch MERV 11 filter.
- RGF REME HALO LED in-duct air purifier, model REME-LED-AS.
These additions give the homeowner dedicated equipment for humidity control, air filtration, air treatment, and temperature management. We also provide thermostat installation and whole-home air purifier installation.
Installation and Operational Testing
After completing the installation, we tested the heating and cooling system and checked the operation of the installed accessories, including the powered humidifier and in-duct air purifier.
All installed equipment was operating properly when the job was completed, and the homeowner was happy with the finished installation. The before-and-after photos show the replacement of the older indoor equipment and outdoor condenser with the new Trane system.
Warranty Coverage for This Installation
This project includes:
- 10-year limited parts warranty on the Trane condenser, evaporator coil, and furnace, subject to applicable manufacturer registration requirements and warranty terms.
- Five-year labor warranty from Any Season Heating & Cooling Inc., included at no additional charge and conditional on yearly maintenance inspections, subject to the written installation agreement.
Warranty coverage for the thermostat, humidifier, media air cleaner, and air purifier follows each product’s applicable terms.
